I'm excited to share how I've been incorporating AI into my daily workflow to boost efficiency and manage my workload more effectively. It's been a game-changer! Specifically, I've found AI-powered tools are invaluable for summarising findings on a research topic on Google AI Overview, automatically summarizing lengthy reports, generating drafts of emails and social media content. This has allowed me to save significant time on administrative tasks and focus on more strategic and creative projects and endeavours. I'm also using AI to research and gather information for presentations, analyze existing literature to conduct literature reviews. The ability to leverage AI's capabilities to automate repetitive tasks and provide data-driven insights is truly empowering.
As a new PhD student and a researcher I am facing new challenges everyday and incorporating AI in my work is part of it. I just started as a research assistant for a study on Gen AI and how teachers are using and adopting Gen AI in their teaching methods in higher education and pedagogy. I did not have any prior experience in Gen AI and its use in teaching in higher education and pedagogy, previously, so first, I had to familiarise myself with the Gen AI concepts and how these theoretical concepts were used in real-life. I think speaking to my research colleagues and research supervisor was one of the ways I could deal and cope with the anxieties of starting my research work on Gen AI as a research assistant. Finding a mentor to guide me on my PhD research journey on Gen AI was crucial for me. I have just started to work in research on Gen AI in academia and I am now feeling much more confident in my journey in academic research. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share my experiences in facing this key challenges I am facing in my research work regarding AI. I believe that integrating AI strategically can help us all work smarter, not harder.
