The question I have been asking myself is how my research can contribute to solving problems caused by Covid-19. I feel bad for not having research that helps.
How has your research been affected by COVID19 pandemic? In practice, I do not deal with formidable obstacles up to now, concerning the main question of the discussion thread.
It has tremendously affected collaborative research. As a PhD candidate, I can no longer have the usual face to face research meeting and discussion. Sometimes we will have to sit and brainstorm, make calculation, sketches, etc. all these are now moved online, which is somehow challenging for some activities we would have easily done physically
I happen to be outside my university (in China) when the lockdown begun. I cannot enter the university because the protocol strictly forbids all entry and exit to the university. I cannot access my office, computers, my research project. That is making me crazy.

I am a field based Earth Scientist so fieldwork has been totally wiped out during this pandemic. Lab work is also difficult to do as there is no support.
