How can we ignore the scale either for map data collection or map data analysis. In Geospatial mapping and modelling, it is well known that the scale of the map is the most common form of information content measurement as referred to by users. Because a map scale gives an idea of the content as well as depth of information.

in my opinion the scale cannot be ignored and its relevance cannot be neglected if you working with spatial data regardless of the domain. The digital GIS domain will not replace the meaning of scale since it is only a space for storage, analysis and presentation of data.
I think without appropriate scaling produced maps become just a colourfull pictures without any meaning. Working with spatial data makes it indispensable to provide the scale of the final product as well as for the source data you used for its generation. We always will stick on the scale because it is an elementary information for spatial data, which provides us the relation of the modelled or mapped object to the reality.
