I Strongly agree with her. Technology is transforming all walks of life. Its improving every aspects of life as a medium.

we are back at the original discussion of whether or not technology is an enabler - I believe it is - but it is not critical to enhancing peoples lives - it just be one part of a solution
Most people would agree with Melinda Gates that technology, meaning, the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, is by definition not an end itself. If technology is agnostic, however, the people who make it may not be; technology can also have negative (direct and indirect) side effects, too numerous to list here.
I largely agree with her and those above who have expressed their positive attitude towards technology. Still, there is no certainty in this. New technologies may not always promote development and prosperity. Also, technology may bring more disparities within and across societies; between those who benefit and those who do not. We tend to forget and de-emphasize the less positive cases, and her article does not dwell on them either.
I strongly agree with Gabriel R.G. Benito and also all answers noted important points.

I believe;
It is important how the relationship between technology and society is established, rather than the technology itself or how it is used.
Unfortunately, the profit of the manufacturer companies come to the forefront rather than people's benefit from technological advance.
At a minimum, it would be better to focus on personal benefit in less or under-developed and developing societies.
