I want to know your opinion of how reviewer’s comment are important for a research paper? I recently published a paper and the reviewer’s comment were highly appreciated.
Reviewers are usually expert in their fields so by critically reading the Manuscript their opinion will be of paramount importance to the author in order to fill the gaps and optimize the research to be published in the best form
Typically, reviewers of manuscripts that are being strongly considered for publication are offered recommendations to enhance the overall manuscript quality, fit for the journal, and other key factors that may enhance the rigor of the manuscript. The senior editor who indicates "revise and resubmit" for a manuscript submitted for pub is in essence indicating that the work has potential to be published and that the staff will work with you; authors who respond to feedback, questions, and recommendations from the consulting editors, in my experience, end up getting published in that specific journal or a related periodical. Revise and Resubmit is generally a good sign in my experience.
Reviewers' comments mostly improve our MSS a lot. The authors will definitely accept the good suggestions. If there is any misjudgement on the part of the reviewers, the author can humbly indicate that to the Editor and I am sure that the Editor will accept it.
Depends on the quality of the reviewer.. a good reviewer will be genuinely interested in improving quality of MS and gives very useful suggestions.. and a bad reviewer just criticizes and 'cherry picks' mistakes..
My experience is for a typical submission, out of 3 or 4 reviews only one or two stand-out, remaining will be pretty ordinary..
thank you Sridhar Vadahanambi. normally good journals provides good reviewers for the research papers. I agree with you for the fraction of good reviewers.
Reviewers comment on MSS is generally intended to improve the quality and obviously assimilating changes as per comments raised by a reviewer will fill the lacunae in the work.
If you work on compiling manuscripts for days… you get saturated with wordings you use and start committing very simple mistakes. To avoid that, take a break for at least a fortnight or month after completing the manuscript, and then review on your again… you will come up with improved results.
