Aspects of culture, e.g. religion, impact on safety strategy and implementation. For example, the UK might exempt certain workers from wearing safety helmets due to their religion (see 1st link below), while the same set of workers in Canada would be mandated by law to wear safety helmets (see 2nd link below). Sometimes, a worker might be mandated to wear a safety helmet, but his/her own religious beliefs and practices could cause incorrect use of the safety helmet (see photo example of incorrect use in 3rd link below).
To reduce risk, companies would have to shape policy and intervene to adapt practice.
