I am new in the field of heat treatment and foundry. I am working on heat treating Cr-Mo steels (C=0.78%) to obtain a homogeneous fully eutectoid (100% pearlitic) steel. The austenitisation temperatures range from 900 - 1000 degree C and holding time from 2-8 hrs. Even though I am getting fully pearlitic steels, I want to be fully convinced that there is no micro-segregation. Can anyone guide me to any studies specifically showing micro-segregation in steels even after heat treatment? I will be really grateful.
