A metaboanalyst MSEA query almost always results in fold enrichment displayed in the graphs.
How is this calculated? Is it possible to calculate this, from the table provided by metaboanalyst? (the bottom two rows in the attachment). I notice that it is simply not Total / Hits. Any suggestions?
For future reference, I received this answer from one of the authors of metaboanalyst:
To calculate the fold-change, please use the Statistic Q (Stat' column in the table) divided by the Expected Q (Exp' column in the table). In your case for Glycerolipid metabolism, 94.245/11.111, which gives you 8.48.
what parameters did you select? My data table doesn't list a "statistic Q" or an"Expected Q" in the column in the table.
