Innovations on climate change mitigation include energy efficiency as well as low-carbon and non-carbon technologies, carbon reduction technologies, carbon capture, and storage technologies. To take advantage of these existing sources of clean energy, we need to scale up their deployment and continue to increase their efficiency.Climate actions have often fallen into one of two strategies: mitigation efforts to lower or remove greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere, and adaptation efforts to adjust systems and societies to withstand the impacts of climate change.
