Example:
Two species of Hymenoptera (Anoplolepis gracilipes and Pheidole megacephala) where a common contested food resource is placed closer than two non-conflicting food niche resources (no known competitor in the area) in a simulated environment (a distance of 2.0 meters vs. 2.82 meters).
P. megacephala are known to be aggressive towards other ant species within the Hymenoptera order, as well as a confirmed invasive species in the Southeast Asia rainforests (ex. Philippines).
