as medicinal chemistry itself the synthesis of drugs so its more utilize in formulation and development of drug. apart from this if you ever heard about the ayurveda. there is a lot more information regarding the medicinal chemistry
it is more depends on your practice but most of the time , it more preferably synthesize in manufacturing premises,
Medicinal chemistry has its application in drug development but not in community pharmacy settings yet the knowledge about medicinal chemistry is helpful to understand the drugs and their properties.
