There are handbooks for agriculture, food, animal husbandry, transportation, etc. My guess is that many other countries have similar documents, and overlap in subjects, coverages.

This is unfortunately a major problem in several countries. In November 2018, I have been invited to discuss, with a group of well intentioned and trained scientists and stakeholders, what can be done to mitigate the problems related to the use of pesticides in agriculture in Quebec, Canada. We concluded that one of the problem was incomplete statistics (even in North America). For example, when politicians hear on the radio that last year 500 persons died of car accidents, they have a figure to start to work. But we do not have such data for pesticides as far as fatalities or sub-lethal effects are concerned. As a result, politicians cannot assign a priority based on facts to this issue. One cannot blame them for that.

Charles Vincent Two years ago, I participated in a topic "Investigate, survey and evaluate the situation and proposing current solutions to reduce environmental pollution by using pesticides" in a small town? The data we collected are:

1. The agency managing plant protection drugs has information on: List of types of drugs, quantity supplied to the market, banned drugs, information about shops and supplier, ect...

2. Local administrative agencies: Data on training on pesticide use, Assessment report on the effectiveness of communication and education projects for farmers about using safe pesticides and environmental protection on the town, etc. ...

3. Hospitals and local health centers: We have collected data on cases of respiratory illness, eye disease and emergency cases due to acute poisoning, etc.

*Through this small study, I found that all relevant agencies are concerned about the long-term effects on the environment or affect the quality of agricultural products. And little attention is paid to the direct effects on the health of farmers directly using it.

**In this field, according to my personally oppinions , the researchs or the attention to it are not much because:

1. The number of countries taking agricultural production as the focus of the economy are not much.

2. 2. In developed countries, agricultural production is implemented on a large scale but mechanized so the number of farmers directly involved in labor in the agricultural sector are not much.

3. In developing countries and a large proportion of the agricultural sector in the national economy, there has not been adequate attention to occupational safety and health. Perhaps because of its effects or signs on farmer will be more chronic diseases than acute, long incubation period, and different time of illness leading to less attention of Politicians.

There are many subject areas, some likely not pertinent to your specific needs, as well as no or little information on study methods, but many industries and companies either hire a safety specialist or assign those duties, relying on for example firemen, nurses, or occupational safety specialists to address specific topics. Accidents are documented and shared when appropriate. Chemicals and pesticides, as well as equipment typically have a label or manual with safety directions or advice.
