In papers, people have used 50µg/L. Do I need to make a stock of 1L with 50mg of heavy metals into it and then take 20mL of this stock solution for electrochemical measurements?
Kindly guide me; I am not sure about how to start with these concentrations.
Make a stock solution of high concentration and dilute it further many times to reach your desired concentration.
No need to prepare 1L of the stock solution. You can prepare stock solution of 100 or 50 ml by equally reducing the weight (amount) of metal ion salt. Then with appropriate dilution you can prepare desired concentration of metal ion solution.
Concentration is not a issue in electrochemical sensor. We can choose any concentration according to our system. SO first you fix you concentration range from higher to lower. No need to worry about conc./ the thing is need to determine the ability of your electrochemical system.
Dilution factor , Unit conversion and all basic calculation that will do later.
