Hi,

I would like to set-up the BIOPAC MP160 in the MRI scanner to record ECG with the AcqKnowledge software.

The MP160 is already equipped with the ECG100C amplifier and does record the cardiac signal; however, the trace is very noisy, despite some filters have been installed in the MRI room.

I would like to know if anyone could help with the following:

1) How do I get a cleaner analogue signal with either a 3-lead ECG or a pulse oximeter (assuming that the subject preparation has been done properly)?

2) How do I read the ECG recorded with AcqKnowledge in Matlab, so as to detect the R-peaks?

3) How do I send triggers with Matlab in order to mark the ECG trace and know exactly when a (visual) stimulus was presented?

Any help will be much appreciated, especially on how to connect the hardware so that the MP160 could be interfaced with the computer running Matlab.

Many thanks,

V
