Actually our formulation contains more than 40% of polymer which may have more prone to develop the impurities and microbial contamination please suggest me the corrective actions.
A bit more information about the material and its storage would be useful here, but packaging the product hermetically would be a good first step. The addition of a biocidic agent to the composition could also prove useful...
I think that the use of anti-microbials, as suggested by Razan can be ok. Nowadays interesting studies are exploring natural anti-microbial agents, such as essential oils extracted from plants , chitosan or chitin nanofibrils, that can be obtained by waste of sea food.
I also think the packaging system application is another important factor which has to take in consideration. Indeed, the exact application of the packaging system, for example, fresh foods (meat, fish, fruits...), bakery and etc..., can give us very useful information because in this case by knowing microbial agent (source of impurities), it would be easier to decide about the proper antimicrobial agent.
