I'd like to quantify the erosion products of the polyethylene glycol (PEG) end-modified with ureidopyrimidinone (UPy) moieties.

I've read in a previous study that this can be done by measuring the UV absorbance at 265 nm. I'd like to know the reason for this specific wavelength; does it depend on the groups that compose the polymer? And how it is possible to determine it without knowing this datum in advance?

Moreover, the machine I thought to use to measure the UV absorbance is the Perkin Elmer 2030 which, however, can only measure at 260nm and 280nm. Could I use it and obtain trustable data about the erosion?

Small note: we also have a NanoDrop 1000 in our lab. Would it be worth to try with it as well?
