I think the best is alive communication with students.Alk kind of tools are just,in my opinion, taking out the focus.People must learn to listen,in my opinion,not to ask for some kind of show.Show is in show business:)

The interesting questions you have posed do not have simple answers because when you create and use such tools, you need to consider many factors such as your audience, your own IT competence, your preferred teaching styles and what kind of learning you want to engender. I have always felt that creating complex resources just because it is trendy is the wrong approach but multi-media resources are very useful because they add interest, change lesson pace and can support students with specific needs and different learning styles. Simple is best is how I do it and combining pictures, words, video and audio is a matter of taste and practice. Here are some general principles:
