I wonder if you are able to assist me with the DFLUX subroutine in Abaqus.
Thus far I have been able to simulate the moving surface heat flux from a laser beam with a Gaussian distribution over the surface of a powder bed. From literature I understand that the laser's energy penetrates up to 0.4 mm below the surface of the powdered material I am investigating. However at that depth, only a fraction of the original heat flux would be observed.
I was thinking of describing the heat flux as some function of distance P(x) and adding it to the subroutine. I already have the data to construct the function I just need to incorporate it with a subroutine in order to simulate a volumetric heat flux in Abaqus.
