How do you account for dying animals when graphing average tumor volume over time?

As the title suggests, we are testing treatment on tumor volume over time. However, if tumors reach 2000 mm3, we must sacrifice the animal. Obviously this will depress the average tumor volume for that cohort on subsequent days. How do you deal with this artifactual decrease in volume?
