Hi everyone,

Need your help again to understand the chemistry.

what kind of reaction that possible to convert thiosulfonate --> thiosulfate --> tetrathionate

does it through oxidation? decomposition?

Thank you

From my understanding,

Thioslfinates dissociate into thiosulfonate and disulphide. Then disulphide disproportionating to sulphide and trisulphide. when there is microbial activity, sulphides being oxidized to thiosulfate. When thiosulfate react with iodine, it becomes tetrathionates.

Need someone to clarify this. Is this true?
