I want to do the simulation on the flow behavior of PCL in Fused deposition Modelling. I set inlet boundary as velocity inlet and outlet boundary for pressure outlet. For inlet boundary the velocity set to be 0.001m/s and what should i put the value for initial gauge pressure? And for the outlet, what value should i put in the gauge pressure? i try to put 103325 Pa for pressure outlet but reversed flow. and sometimes temperature limited appear in the solution. Anyone plz...
Hi,
So for the inlet You need to insert velocity inlet boundary condition. You can specify velocity and direction flow (i suggest use normal to boundary option). For outlet put outlet pressure with gauge pressure = 0 it means that your process is working in pressure = 1atm. Temperature limitations can occur due to high pressure, to big mesh elements or just simulation need more iterations to reach to stable solution.

I'm using Ansys Workbench 14. OK, so far is ok. but i`'ve got small pressure in Pa like 0.032 Pa. this the amount of pressure that need to force out the PCL flow to nozzle exit. is it acceptable? Is it material condition effect a lot on my result. such as non Newtonian fluid condition.

i am using ANSYS 15 when apply the boundary condition there static pressure in negative.
