I want to prepare a 0.2 N of FCR, but I don't know how to do the calculation. Is it the same as (1:10 dilution or 10%)? I'd appreciate it if somebody can help.
many thanks for posting this interesting technical question on RG. To the best of my knowledge, the common commercially available Folin Ciocalteu reagent has a concentration of 2 N. Thus you just need to take 1 ml of the commercially available reagent and fill it up with deionized water to a total volume of 10 ml (or use multiples thereof).
I think it is better use the formula C1V1 = C2V2. The most common commercially available Folin Ciocalteu reagent has a concentration of 2 N. Now C1 = 2N, V1 =?. And you have to determine the final volume you want to prepare (V2 =?) the concentration you want to have is (C2 = 0.2N), then apply C1V1 = C2V2. = V1 = C2V2/C1
