In any flow solver like COMSOL,ANSYS,ENSIGHT etc...
Basic steps are :
1.IMPORT A CAD MODEL MADE FROM OTHER MODELING SOFTWARE/ CHECK IF COMSOL ALLOWS MODELING WITHIN ITSELF...
2.MESHING
3.BOUNDARY CONDITIONS ,FLOW Parameters
4.SOLVER SELECTION
5.PROGRAM EXECUTION-Simulation ....but for correct and justified explanation please refer to the manuals and the help tutorials within COMSOL...u can also find number of videos on YOUTUBE...PDFs in GOOGLE.....Joining the cfd-online forum will also help a lot...
I would you suggest you to go through the videos of SATURN,SALOME MECA of the CAE LINUX.........here you need not buy the license ,these are open source and also reliable...instead if u install CAE LINUX OS you will have the in built programs for CAD MODELING,CFD,STRUCTURAL so as a whole FEM package for other modules like MODAL,THERMAL,VISCO-PLASTIC MODELING etc.... please go through this link http://www.caelinux.org/wiki/index.php/Doc:CAETutorials
