I have a sample of Y-branch waveguides fabricated on lithium niobate substrate by annealed proton exchange (APE) process. I would like to measure the output power from each arm after coupling laser light into the input arm. The power meter has a large diameter (~3 mm) compared to the separation distance between the two arms (apprx. 50 microns), which implies that the detected output power is the total power from the two arms. I will appreciate any links to a good test setup for Y-branch waveguides.
Thank you Zhou, I do not have IR camera. I may have to try the lens method you have suggested. Noting that the depth of APE channel waveguide is quite small(~3 microns), do I expect the waveguide to become brighter when illuminated with red laser?
Thank you Yi Zhou. I did design it for 1550 nm. So I don't expect a red laser to be transmitted in the waveguide.
