I have been receiving requests to share copies of a number of my articles. I don't want to violate copyright in doing so, however. How do I know if I have the rights to share an article I am first author of.
Please check your copyright agreement and read it alongside the Author Guide provided by the publisher. In particular, the Author Guide should specify conditions under which you can share your articles. Most publishers allow authors to share on public sites accepted versions of their manuscripts but not the page-proof or the final published version of the article. Some publishers allow authors to share the final published version on their institutional intranet. If the Author Guide does not provide an answer to your question, consider writing to the journal for clarification.
