I have a Matlab code for running an experiment for which I would like to get the galvanic response. I am using BioPac system for the skin conductance but have troubles finding a script for telling Matlab at which point (i.e., stimulus onset) starting to recording the response. Any useful link?
You could do the reverse -- during your stimulus presentation ask Matlab to send a event marker via the parallel port to the BioPac console. Then measure SC with the standard software by BioPac on another PC.
That requires custom built connections between the parallel port of the stimulus PC to the trigger channels of the BioPac unit.
I agree with Kenneth's solution. I used a similar setup for fEMG, with Acqknowledge to record the data, and triggers sent from Presentation over the parallel port. We used different trigger codes to signify different event onsets (e.g., 1 = fixation cross, 2 = stimulus onset etc).
Once I had the raw Acqknowledge .acq files, I converted them to .mat format. In Matlab, we looked for the channels called 'Digital input'. Acqknowledge disregards universal conventions and encodes binary as 5 (on) and 0 (off). To deal with this we converted the matrix to logicals, then called bi2de(yourdata,'right-msb'), which converts it to decimal (base 10).
