Hi everyone.

We have a project that involves extraction of proteins from soil sample, specifically a compost. Our target proteins are mainly myofibrillar proteins from poultry and sea foods. One of the major challenge is that we could not get a clear supernatant when we homogenized the soil sample in common buffers used for protein extraction. Is there a clean-up protocol that will help separate the colored particles and leave a clear protein solution? Our goal is to use colorimetric method (BCA assay) to quantify the protein content in these samples.

Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.
