How do I completely remove my paper from the Research Gate data base and Server? We have some serious similarity engines issues with our uploaded reprint???
Dear Yonathan Mizrachi Not sure what exactly is your problem when it comes to Research Square but first of all do realise that preprints present in Research Square are automatically uploaded here (so even when the author or co-authors do not (want to) upload them manually themselves).
See for issues (and possible solutions when it comes to issues with preprints of Research Square) see here on RG:
Due to the fact that similarity engines that found our reprint in Research Square (and now as I discover a copy in Research Gate), we repeatedly were unable to publish (this was specifically cited as the reason!!!). Research Square agreed to remove all PDF and files and just leave the name and the DOI as can be see here https://www.researchsquare.com/article/rs-2003974/v1 ..... So the question remains, how can we remove the PDF file completely from Research Gate??? I thank you so much in advance Rob!!!
Unfortunately, you cannot remove completely any item from RG yourself. You should contact RG's support team at https://help.researchgate.net/hc/en-us/requests/new.
I understand that similarity issues are the problem but as you can see in the links (do read them…) I indicated this SHOULD NOT be a problem (since a publisher like Springer closely works together with Research Square). Therefor I asked and (now) assume that it seems to be more a problem of the journal/publisher where you submitted your manuscript to (they misinterpreted and misunderstand the concept of preprints...).
Anyway read https://help.researchgate.net/hc/en-us/articles/14293099743121-How-to-make-content-private-or-remove-it to see the possibilities and impossibilities when it comes to removing a publication (at the end there is a contact info to reach the RG team as indicated by Wolfgang R. Dick as well).
Than again Rob Keller Indeed this is the problem "Therefor I asked and (now) assume that it seems to be more a problem of the journal/publisher where you submitted your manuscript to (they misinterpreted and misunderstand the concept of preprints...)." Mostly in non Springer related publishers such as https://www.elsevier.com/ (Research Square and owned by Springer and I now know..... So I will follow your and Wolfgang R. Dick advice and links!!! Thank you both again so much!!!
