Hello,

I am trying to calculate the heat loss along the length of a pipeline. I have been able to generate the temperature profile along the pipeline using the formula in the picture below. However what I now want to calculate is the rate of flow of heat per unit time, but I cant figure out how to do that.

I tried using dq/dt = U*2(pi)rL*(fluid temperature-Ambient temperature) and

dq/dt = m Cp dt , but the answers I got were not correct.

Any help will be appreciated.
