There are several bench-top NMRs in the market. Spinsolve, PicoSpin, NMready etc to name a few. All claim high resolution. I would like to know, especially from those who has used one of these instruments, your experience. And how does it compare with traditional NMR instruments offered by Bruker or Varian.
The bench-top NMRs operate at much lower field strengths then a traditional NMR spectrometer. For example, the PicoSpin 45 is a 45 MHZ spectormeter. This would mean the signal (in principal) should be 37 times weaker then a 500 MHz NMR (500/45)^(3/2)
Resolution is also a problem at very low fields . 1 ppm for 45 MHz is 45 Hz vs 500 Hz for 500 MHz. That said high resolution and sensitivity isn't needed for every experiment
