if I have a two port model with unknown characteristic impedance (for sure it is not 50ohm), and I want assign two Lumped port (solution type is driven terminal), and define one of them as input and the other one as out put. In real experiment I connect the input port to signal generator by coaxial cable and also connect the output to spectrum analyzer by coaxial cable (both cables are 50 ohm, and devices are 50 ohm too) , the frequency is 100 MHz and the Voltage is 1Vpeak. How I should define this voltage in HFSS? there are two option Incident voltage and Total Voltage, which one should be used and how much it should be defined for this experiment.

Draw a model as it would be in the circuit. The shape of the connections and the ground will affect the inductance and shunt capacitance.

you can draw your model (for example a rectangular) and then by right clicking on it you can add your desired excitation. also you can define your input impedance here. for more information, check Ansys Soft channel on youtube.
