The copolymer of aniline and pyrrole (1g : 1g) were synthesized by dissolving it in 100 mL HCl (1 M) and using APS (4.8 g in 100 mL HCl (1 M)) as an oxidation agent. The polymerization were done in 0C in N2 atmosphere with stirring for 24 hrs.
The obtained product contain white, brown and green impurities that don’t dissolve in any of the following solvents: HCl, Methanol, Ethanol, and deionized water
So, how could we purify the polymer from these impurities?
I don't know why you want to polymerize Aniline and pryrrole together, but ok. I assume a copolymer will not be formed but just a mixture of PAni and PPy in form of particular agglomerates.
If I were you, I would not try to clean the mess you had cooked there, but do the experiment again: you should add the oxidant very slowly and make sure the temperature does not rise during oxidant addition, so you add it dropwise and wait.
Especially after the first 2, 3 drops, you need to wait so that you can see the polymerisation starts. After it has started, then you add more drops, one after the other, and slowly.
Then let us know how the result looks like in contrast to what you showed here.
I should have added the following:
after the oxidant addition is completed, you don't need to stirr 24 hrs, just 30 min is already ok;
then you filter, and then you wash and filter and wash and wash and filter with DI water (do not just wash the filter cake while sitting on the filter! take it out every time after filtration und suspend it in water!) until the filtrate water is neutral and does not contain ions any more (conductivity analysis)
Only then you dry the filter cake.
I have followed the steps you mentioned and this was the result. What is your opinion?

How could we estimate the exact percentage (wt%) we need from the oxidation agent that would be equivalent to prepare a polymer from 2 g of the monomers (1 g of aniline monomer + 1 g of pyrrole monomer)
from your photo I can not judge what is the result :-) only analysis data can tell me!
You can not only estimate, but exactly calculate how much oxidant you need for polymerizing: you need to calculate how many moles of monomers (aniline and pyrrole) you have, then you take the same amount of moles of oxidant (+10% excess).
But sorry, if you may, i didn’t understand you probably do you mean to take the no. of moles of both monomers together, or the mole of the highest value of them and add 10% excess
you need to calculate thee number of moles for each monomer, then add the 2 results together and add 10% (to be safe)
