This area is a big research field, we can widely apply/use WSN for bio-medical fields.
Like body area network, Bio medical sensors, can be applied for Patient monitoring and patient treatment. There are quite number of papers available on this area.
You can use sensor to sense various parameters like temperature, pressure of the patient. Also it will be useful to monitor the temperature level of a child kept in incubation
This area is very interesting. You can use WSNs to do simple tasks such as monitor particular human health parameters such as blood pressure, heart attacks, prevent dangerous issues in human complications and etc. However, there is an interesting research going on nowadays where you can use WSNs injected into the body to flow with your blood circulation. In such scenarios, what you would like to do is to do some controls in a distributed fashion such as brain control, or what you can do is to use WSNs to particularly activate any paralyzed part of the body. Body area networks is actually the application of wireless sensor networks for health monitoring. In general wireless sensor networks collect information like temperature etc. and transmit it to a central node, this is equally applicable for body area networks, in which sensors can sense, ecg, eeg, temperature etc. and transmit the information to a medical monitoring center for processing, storage and monitoring.
