Version 4.5.5 of Gromacs requires the old (version 1.x) version of DSSP.  Anything in the 2.x series will cause a seg fault. It may be hard to obtain an old DSSP version, so upgrading Gromacs is the better solution. Newer versions can always read older files.

You'll have to specify what "not working" means.  Running do_dssp is a delicate balance between matching versions of Gromacs and the DSSP executable.  You'll need to provide more information, like what versions of each you are using, what your do_dssp command was, and what the actual error message was.

Hi Justin. I had this kinda problem in gromacs. I would like to highlight in detail:
