Biosynthesis often is no preferred as compared to other methods as the yield is always low.
Concentrate the extract, switch temperature, change pH, etc.
Optimize the parameters (metal ion, extract and reaction conditions) by increasing their concentrations..
Indeed, I think the most possible approach is to find a strain which can tolerate high concentration of specific precursors (HAuCl4, AgNO3, etc), and then incubate the strain in fermentation tank to obtain a high-density cultures.
