I think it can be incorporated. But must of the medical equipment have specific deign based on their specialized functions. So the peculiarity of each equipment has to be considered for effective design and efficient power consumption management.
H+ may sound like it has high energy but the energy density is quite poor. That is why Li-ion batteries are now used in all portable equipment. Unless you can think of a way to increase the energy density by a factor of at least 10, don't spend time on it. Solve that problem first then seek to take over the Li-ion market.
Is it really important to have this technological investment in low income countries? I'm sure that there are many other priorities to assess prior to what you suggest. I think it is more a subject that concerns high income countries.
