Ok so I think I should perhaps make this question a little more concrete by giving at least one example of something "simple" that is of concern. As QT moves from laboratory science into technology the development of products will hopefully become a problem of system integration of off-the-shelf components. For this to be viable we will need to maintain international supply chains as each country will likely produce components related to its own scientific strengths.
Is this something we need to worry about or will this be something that resolves itself as a consequence of as-yet-to happen trade negotiations. While this is impossible to answer at the moment - are there any primitive steps that could be taken to protect a quantum components device supply chain?
