the wavelength when the the absorption intensity(or reflectance %R and absorbance log(1/R)) start to take off. Then you can derive the optical bandgap using equation: Eg (eV) = 1240/(wavelength in nm), you might get the band gap from the reflectance %R and absorbance log(1/R). You also can get the band gap by another methods, ex. electrochemical methods.
