How can we evaluate the impact of chemotherapy on root development?

We investigated the oral health in children and adolescents undergoing chemotherapy and stemm cell Transplantation. In panoramic x-Rays we observed several modifications in toot root development. Is there any index to quantify the disturbed root develoment (root length, root form and root thickness)? Crown/Root Ratio does not consider the form or thickness, the DeI (Defect-Index, Hölltä 2002: 10.1038/sj.bmt.1703330) likewise. Can anyone help?
