From Fig 3, coarsening is upwards, a high percentage of organic matter. that indicates the deltaic environment.

Structureless massive fine-grained material with water escape structures/ convolute lamination and mud clasts I would suspect of the transition from pro-delta shales into shoreface deposits. Delta marshes, distributary channels and beach ridges higher up in the CU sequence used to show cross bedding mainly curved type. Another way is to look at the micro fauna and flora which turns into a marine one the further off the delta platform you are. The current one is a rough scheme given based upon your rock slaps presented.

Bayan Hussien, yeas foresure, thank you for the answer, probably i didn't precise the question. I would like how to discriminate between fluvial dominated delta front deposits & wave dominated delta deposits.

Please note that there is no bioturbation observed within the delta front sandstone (what i would like to know here is where the sands are deposited in fluvial dominated delta or wave dominated delta ?? based on the absence of the sedimentary structures except what showed in the photos).

The question whether it is a fluvial-dominated or wave-dominated delta cannot be decided based upon the data available and should be done by investigating the vertical/ lithologs and also in plain view (e.g. "birdfoot delta" = fluvial) .

Often it is not a true end-member type but a mixture of wave- and fluvial-dominated processes. That is why I tried to convince you to look at this transitional landform between land and sea in a 3-D view to get a full-blown and true picture. It is certainly not an easy task.
