when we are going to therapeutic drug monitoring of patients, and the doctor prescribe different different strength of same drug to cure symptom of patients. e.g. some patient taking 50 mg dose and other patient may have been taken 100 mg dose. In this case how can we complies to therapeutic efficacy.....??
Hi, in that case in order to compare you need to have same data profiles, as in some parameter should be kept constant. If you compare a patient with 50 mg dose and another with 100 mg, the results you will get will be ambiguous as interindividual variations will exist. You need to administer the same patient or a group of patients with different doses and then compare. The set of parameters(ADME) remaining same in this case, the therapeutic efficacy can be compared.
