The ratio beteen Ti3+/Ti4+ they have calculated in paper 14% by the peak area and than they calculated concentration of Oxygen vacancy 3% I am not getting how they have done it. Please give your valuable suggestions.
Lets assume we have 114 Ti atoms, in perfect TiO2 this would mean 228 oxygens. Now 14 of the Ti are in Ti3+, meaning they only supply 21 oxygens instead of 28.
Total number of oxygens thus 221 in H-P25, compared to 228 of TiO2 means 3% oxygen missing.
Or in other words:
O/Ti = 2 in TiO2
O/Ti = 2*0.877*Ti4++3/2*0.123*Ti4+ (these are the 14% Ti3+) = 1.9385 in H-P25
