No, unfortunatelly I do not have a calibration graph. I want to evaluate haxanal formation in dry cured products through mata-analyssi but in some of the papers I found the volatiles are given as peak areas, i.e. peak height or area units X10 6, so I want to try to convert in one unit like ppm for instance. I am not sure if I can convert directly.
Hi Teodora. Unless you have some sort of calibration curve and/or an internal standard, there is no direct way that I can think of at the moment to convert area to ppm. Sorry!
You need Calibration curve for an external standard for the volatile compound. Then, from the chromatogram indicating the Peak area, an equation can be generated from the plot of responses at difference concentrations. Finally your x-value can be calculated and computed
