I have followed literature deals with the construction of three-dimensional models of star explosions and learned that the reflection or shock wave alone is not enough to conduct the explosion and that there is other factors that may help, including pressure of neutrino (energy transfer due to neutrino-matter absorption and neutrinomatter scattering) and energy released from the shock wave.
I agree with Thierry that Spinning together with the turbulence behind the stalled shock may be the main conductive to explosion.
