Climate change is the preeminent challenge of the 21st century and threatens to erode the many development gains made by many countries. It is likely to exacerbate the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events. Thus effort need to be made towards mitigation and the application of adaptation technologies/EbA can reduce current and future vulnerability to climate change. Since climate change poses threat to every section of life thus we need to think in multidisciplinary way
Thank you very much for you are highlighting these important problem.
I think that, the Earth is in the regular changes. Cold periods and hot periods follow each other regularly. Who can know, how much is the share of human influence on present climate changes? Is the changes within the limits of the Earth's endurance or not?
Homo sapiens has seen the ice ages and flood ages many times. Many civilizations were born and destroyed. How humans created the Sahara desert 8,000 years ago. Today the greed of mankind exceed the capacity of the world. I believe these greediness can not be stopped (see to
Kyoto Protocol and perspective of some countries).
I think humanity will not be able to solve this problem in the future. Mother Nature will produce its own solution at the cost of major disasters. (Still, I would like to thank everyone who has tried to prevent this.)
We can mitigate the effect of climate change by being modest in our life- styles; avoiding extravagance, and only providing for our basic needs; avoiding creating unnecessary redundancies, and all. Above all, the causes of climate change are known, so, the first solution is to acknowledge that the problem is real, and implementing mitigation measures. Several of which, are in public domain. Finally, convert ignorant and arrogant leadership to appreciate this reality for the benefit of our future generations.
