I am working on the banking sector in the Asian countries and know only about the Bankscope as a data source. I dont have personal access to the database. How can i collect my data? Any suggestion ......
Bankscope is a part of the Bureau van Dijk databases that is mostly available to institutions upon payment. Many universities do purchase this data set.
Alternative would be to manually collect data using annual reports.

You may want to try to access bank website, as its a requirement by regulators that financial data is published
Try to look at the World Bank Data. You can find the database useful. Here is the link:

You may also can try https://www.quandl.com/. Some data is free

BankScope also publishes data delayed. The database contains information after the audit, so the data for the previous year appear soon after the general meeting of shareholders, and are usually available in the middle of the year, sometimes later, unfortunately
Access to BankScope is payable. Universities receive large discounts. If China does not have a local database provider some solution may be a trip to the university with access.

You can check the website of central bank of various countries for standardised data sets for a country related banks.
Unfortunately my country's website doesn't have that data and officials seem not to know whether they have or not. My only alternative is bankscope but don't have login details

I've already asked and my school doesn't have access to commercial banking data of any kind. Latam Private Banking superintendencies are far from trying to help with bank's balance sheet in excel or other file format...they just give you a web name and you are supposed to type in thousands and thousands of data (though they give conferences about Big Data with their big-mouth)

By the head banks you can get
In our country we get banks information by RBI
Like your country also have head bank from their you can collect it
As mentioned by other researchers, could get bank information from local government agencies or local central banks' assistance which surely have subscription to Moody's/Bankfocus
Alternatively, could consider subscription of Bankfocus (former Bankscope) directly that have been assisting many universities/researchers in their banking projects regionally and globally.
