We are used to understand the operation of antenna using Maxvel's equations. However I wonder if there a way we can understand the operation of antenna using the most fundamental building block of materials and energy.
I found the following blog article, where the Author claims that every atom is an antenna ( http://marty-green.blogspot.com/2011/10/how-atoms-are-tiny-antennas.html ).
I hope the fellow researchers in respective areas of physics could explain the correctness of such interpretations as well as how it could fit into the today's antenna theory.

I cannot answer this question because to my simple view of the subject it does not
make sense. No offense implied. Yet, reading the blog article I realize the subject is
interesting (to say the least).
Strictly speaking, highly electronically excited atoms (Rydberg atoms) actually may acts as emitter of microwave radiation or can be modulated by radio frequency radiation.
A full quantum analysis including quantized EM radiation can be used to calculate
but not representing such situations.
Quantum physics handle quantum states that are sustained by materialities (atoms molecules, plants, etc). Quantum mechanical equations do not represent the material support.
They let us calculate elements of Hilbert spaces, energy ladders and if you pick up a semiclassic model you can make "interpretations" rooted in the semiclassic model.
Models may be extremely good. The interpretations we are talking about are the
result of the classical physics elements contained in the semiclassic one.

Die Atom-Modelle nach Bohr/Sommerfeld und nach Schrödinger stellen eine theoretische Annäherung an die Realität dar. Es kann durchaus infrage gestellt werden, ob die im Atom gebundene Elektronen Welleneigenschaften besitzen. Die räumliche Koordination der Elektronenhülle wäre auch gut mit einer geometrischen Gitterstruktur erklärbar.
Für den Atomkern zumindest ist eine solche Gitterstruktur beweisbar.
Das Bild "atomarer Antennen" ist in vielfältiger Hinsicht interessant mit einer geometrischen Ordnung der Atomhülle durchaus vereinbar.
