The soils of mangrove ecosystem are rich in nutrients. To study the nutrient status of soils, can anyone provide me with the procedure of measuring the nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in mangrove ecosystems?
Do you have a basic soil testing kit? You will want to sample at four different locations at one time. Then, average or pool your samples for one test. This should be repeated two or three times during the year. If you don't have such a test, I can recommend one for you, thanks, Joel
From first principle, both on land (attached) as well in mangrove, I would sample the plant rather than the soil; this is explained in the first attachment; examples for mangrove are attached.
If budget allows, measuring both plant and soil would be great.

I do have an analysis kit for soil, but there only the range is displayed. I wanted an analytical method that can be done with accuracy in the laboratory.. If you give me some detail methodology for it.
DJ has started analyzing the dirty soil of Dhapa and he may be contacted for this. His main interest is N content and spread the essence to rest of the academic world
