But, how can one show the combined effects of climate change and land-use and land cover changes on a given river catchment/flow?
Which of the existing tools and models could be helpful in this regard?

Usually, I am using remote sensing methods for assessment of some climate parameters impacts.
I agree Marine Nalbandyan this is one of the best ways to develop this type of research.
First, you need to acquire remotely sensed satellite imageries for LULC and then temperature and precipitation data. Both datasets should have the same timing to correctly show how these two phenomena impact river flow.

Remote sensing is OK, but how do you evaluate the impact of climate change and land use on runoff from temporary and short-term observations? In my opinion, it is first and foremost necessary to analyze the several dozen-year-long series of meteorological observations and runoff measurements related to changes in land use.

Hence, there are different ways for the successful operation of your research in today's world.
