I m doing ATRP reaction (in DMF)and I use CuBr as a catalyst. After polymerization, I do a series of washing with Acetone, but from the colour of the product, it seems that I still have more copper in the system which is not desirable. How can I remove it?
You pass ur product through basic alumina column by dissolving in suitable solvent. After passing through column, CuBr will be adsorbed on alumina column.

if you acceed to the web page of Prof Matyjaszewski you will find complete documentation references on the purification. Classically chromatographing is used, however supports and AGET ATRP give much better results. Regards
Acetone is organic solvent could not dissolve CuBr salt which is inorganic while water can do
you dissolve the polymer in THF and then purified by passing through a silica gel column

generally, ATRP catalysts are removable by simple chromatography, i.e., passing through aluminum oxide or silica.
